Have you reached a point where progress and advancement in your exercise routine has slowed down, or come to a stop? Or perhaps you're feeling less motivated to work out, or simply aren't sure what to do to spur new results...

Let our experienced YMCA personal trainers guide you, provide you with sound knowledge, technique, and program feedback, and help you achieve what you want in your training.

Our team of skilled and certified personal trainers can help you with weight loss, rehabilitation from injury, sport-specific and athletic training, mass & strength building, and cardio/endurance training, or general programming.

All sessions are one hour. Please note that GST applies to all personal training rates.


Our trainers

Rob Friedt

With years of experience with both individual and group training, Rob has the knowledge to guide you on your journey to better fitness and health. Rob is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine andCanFitPro, and is a YMCA certified Group Fitness Leader. He runs TRX and Functional Fitness sessions in the YMCA in the fall, winter and spring, and is one of our volunteer fitness instructors.



Avery Van Blaricom

As a former SJHL hockey player and Junior AAA baseball player staying active is something that I value highly whether it’s through sport, or in the gym. If you are looking to lose weight, do some offseason training to get to that next level in sport, or to get to be an all-around fitter you, I can help in achieving whatever goal you set out to achieve. Canfit Pro Certified and 3rd year in Kinesiology at University of Saskatchewan.


Florence Scheepers

Florence is a psychology graduate working on a second degree in Kinesiology and is CanFitPro certified. She is an outdoors enthusiast, and found her passion for personal training after recovering from a serious sports injury. She believes in building a foundation and progressing continuously in order to achieve a realistic goal, and that it’s a trainer’s job to assist that client in a sustainable and healthy way.




Fitness Orientation

New to the fitness world or just looking for a little extra help?

All new members are offered a free fitness orientation with one of our staff  to show you around the facility and give some information about our equipment and classes, as well as advise you on your fitness goals.

Program Design     

This package is perfect if you want assistance with exercise choices, technique, and proper workout programming, but don't necessarily need a personal trainer.  This option allows you to push yourself, constantly make progress, and check back in with your trainer every 6-8 weeks, for program adjustments and progressions.

Personal Training:

This option is excellent for all ages and fitness levels, and provides a fun and exciting atmosphere, designed to teach you proper technique, exercise programming, and supply extra coaching and motivation.  Whether you choose one-on-one, or group training, we have flexible package options to suit your needs.
