POSTPONED - Storytelling with Kevin MacKenzie - Double Workshop Day
Join us for a day of learning by world renewoned Kevin MacKenzie. Learn how to use Fingerplays and Oral Storytelling with Young Children.
Tell it is a hands-on introduction to oral storytelling. Each of us is a storyteller with specific gifts, waiting to be given. In the course of this workshop, participants will learn two simple stories for young children well enough to feel very confident using them at circle time, or anywhere! We will also learn new fingerplays and techniques for using them. Emphasis is on honouring each participant's unique voice and way of telling.
FINGERPLAY BOOT CAMP
A creative booster in which participants explore the developmental need for social activities based in movement and rhyme, become experts at converting noisy, chaotic group times into enthusiastic, more harmonious events, and beef up their fingerplay repertoire.
Presenter: Kevin MacKenzie
Kevin, ECE, Storyteller, Keynote Speaker. He has introduced thousands of people to storytelling through workshops and performances in centres, festivals, schools, and libraries in seven countries. His first DVD of original fingerplays was included on the Canadian Children's Book Centre's "Our Choice" list. His second has won critical acclaim and more importantly, giggles and smiles, from thousands of children.
