2021 Summer Camp UPDATE

The YMCA of Saskatoon is pleased to be offering BLACKSTRAP Camp & Councellor In Training Camp from July 5 - August 20, 2021

Registration is now OPEN!

For Blackstrap Camp, your child aged7 - 13 years can expect...

  • Team building
  • Canoeing/Kayaking
  • Large Outdoor Games
  • Build lifetime friendships
  • ...and so much more, including...

Enjoying a unique Environmental Adventures program, where we seek to equip children with a better understanding of the world and nature around them so that they can grow up knowing the importance of being thriving environmental stewards.

Through this, our campers learn the importance of environmental preservation, all while experiencing how much fun it can be to respect our land and the environment. In this program the campers walk through what it means to take care of the land and the animals around them by recycling resources to create animal feeders, by learning the importance of preserving different environmental climates and protected plants and landscapes, through learning about compasses and geography, and through indigenous tipi building with naturally fallen trees and resources.

In this, our hope is that children will leave our camp with a love and a knowledge of the importance of our environment and the nature around them, so that they can go into their futures becoming people that strive to preserve and respect the beauty of our world.

This program will incorporate lots of team building opportunities, personal reflection and growth, and long lasting relationships between other campers and counselors.

School's Out Day Camps

Our School’s Out Day Camps are a fun and exciting way for children ages 5-12 to spend their day when school is out. The kids start their day with a morning circle and gym games, and have the opportunity to use the pool. After lunch, there is free time followed by an afternoon of fun filled activities and crafts, and finishes with an end-of-day circle with songs. Each child is placed in a small group with children their own age and is led by one of our fantastic camp leaders. This year, we are taking extra measures to ensure that our staff and participants are safe and that our facility and equipment is clean and sanitized. We offer Before and After care from 7:30am until 6pm at no extra cost. Registration is by the day.

If your child is registered in one of our BASC programs, make sure to watch your email for the discount code that you can use when registering for camps.

Regular rate is $52.70 per day. All students registered in BASC get a discount for any School's Out Day Camp.

*Children do not have to be registered in the Before and After School Care (BASC) program, or attend one of our BASC schools, to attend our day camps. All children welcome!
**Camps may be canceled in the event of low registration numbers.
***2020/2021 prices reflect the need for additional staff on duty during SODC as well as the extra cleaning and sanitization measures in place to protect you and your family.

Upcoming Camps

Schools Out Day Camp: Due to the number of Covid-19 cases in Saskatchewan, as well as the new government regulations that have been put in place to protect our community, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our School’s Out Day Camps that were scheduled to run for the remainder of the 2020/2021 school year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for families. Please stay tuned here for updates on Summer Day Camps and what the YMCA will be offering.
