Saskatoon Seals Underwater Hockey

The YMCA of Saskatoon works with local sports groups to offer more activities at our downtown location, including underwater hockey. Each group runs their own programs. You need a YMCA membership to join, and some groups may have extra fees.

Underwater Hockey (UWH)

The Saskatoon Seals Underwater Hockey (UWH) Club is a safe, non-contact sport played between two teams at the bottom of a pool. Players maneuver a weighted puck along the bottom of the pool into the opposing team’s goal using 12-inch sticks shaped like car window ice-scrapers. Players hold their breath and dive to the bottom of the pool to push, pass or steal the puck from opponents.

UWH is an exhilarating sport that gives you an incredible cardio workout and will leave you literally breathless at times! We have had players from 8 years old to 75 years old and of all shapes and sizes. We welcome all potential players of any ability or skill level, players use a mask, fins & snorkel and we teach you how to use them.

Looking for a club that blends fitness, teamwork, and fun? The Saskatoon Seals is a dynamic recreational group that welcomes players of all levels. Our regular practices feature a mix of individual, group, and team-based drills, all leading up to an action-packed practice match—whether it’s exciting, challenging, or just plain fun!

But we’re more than just training. We hit the town on Friday nights and host lively clubhouse parties, making sure our members connect on and off the field.

We take both our game and our good times seriously. While we maintain a structured and organized approach, we keep things relaxed—striking the perfect balance between dedication and enjoyment.

Come be part of the Seals, where every session is a chance to improve, compete, and have a blast!
